Statement Regarding COVID – 19 Pandemic (Corona Virus)
Public safety and the safety of our Tenants, employees, maintenance crews, and Superintendents is our first priority.
Harbour City Homes is actively monitoring developments and staying informed by reviewing information from trusted sources including but not limited to the Nova Scotia Health Authority, The Public Health Agency of Canada, and the World Health Organization.
CHANGES IN POLICY:
1. Paying Rent:
Harbour City Homes will continue to collect cash for April 1st 2020 rent, however we would like to transition to other forms of payment for our cash paying clients. Other forms of payment include:

4. For everyone’s protection, HCH maintenance staff and Superintendents will be increasing the frequency in which we clean common areas.
5. Work Order Requests (902.490.6277):
We are now limiting the fulfillment of work orders to critical issues only. All other requests will be documented and addressed later. Critical issues would include:
6. Coinamatic (Laundry Cards)
Until instructed otherwise by Government Authorities our offices remain open. As such we recommend that you place the maximum amount of funds on your laundry the card or $ 30.00. Note we will no longer offer change for the machines. Please bring the exact amount of funds when filling up your card. Cards may be replenished at the office. Our hours currently are 9:00 AM to 5:00 Pm Monday to Friday.

- Debit machine (at the office);
- Money order (Drop off or mail);
- Electronic Funds Transfer (Email/Internet payments);
- Or direct deposit at any Royal Bank Branch (You will require specific information from us in order to pay through this method)

- No heat or hot water
- Interruption in electricity
- Lock out situations
- Significant water leaks
- Refrigerators fail to operate
- Toilets plugged
- Stoves not working (More than one element)
- Fire alarms are sounding

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
WE ENCOURAGE TENANTS TO ALWAYS PRACTICE THE FOLLOWING:
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer
- Cough or sneeze into your elbow or tissue (throw the tissue away)
- Limit contact with others when you’re sick
- Limit touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Don’t share items that may have saliva on them like utensils and bottles/glasses
- Clean surfaces like taps, doorknobs and countertops often
- Adhere to State of Emergency protocols as required by the Department of Health
- Practice social distancing (6 feet/2 meters apart from other individuals)
- Do not gather with crowds of 5 or more
- Self-quarantine for two weeks if you have returned from being outside the Province of Nova Scotia.
BEST PRACTICES IF YOU FEEL UNWELL:
- Avoid close contact with people with chronic conditions, compromised immune systems and older adults
- Avoid having visitors to your home
- Avoid situations like social gatherings, work, school, daycare, visiting other people who are in health care facility or long-term care residence
- Limit taking public transit, taxis and ride sharing
- Wash your hands often with soap and warm water frequently for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available
- Cover your mouth and nose with your arm when coughing or sneezing
IN CASE OF ILLNESS:
- Tenants are to follow protocols set by local and national health authorities and government agencies
- Tenants are encouraged to stay home and seek medical advice if they experience symptoms
- If a tenant has a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19, they must report their illness to the public health authorities
